St Michael’s Catholic Secondary School is an excellent co-educational free school academy which opened in September 2012 in the Old County Grammar School, offering parents and pupils of Cornwall a distinctive choice. St Michael’s is the only Catholic secondary school in Cornwall.
St Michael’s, sited next to Camborne railway station, offers an excellent education to pupils from across mid and west Cornwall. Every pupil at St Michael’s is able to flourish, both academically and personally, in smaller classes of around 20. A 3.5 million pound specialist teaching block extension is complete and has added the very best teaching facilities to our traditional grammar school buildings.
The success of St Michael’s is due to its highly qualified and committed teaching staff, smaller class sizes of 20 and a traditional caring family Christian ethos with excellent standards of learning and behaviour.
Please contact the school secretary if you would like more information regarding a place for your son/daughter. We are always able to offer tours of the school and an opportunity to meet our excellent teaching and support staff. For more information on our Taster days for prospective pupils, please see below.
Please feel free to contact us and come and see the huge personal benefits of attending a smaller Catholic secondary school; you will be able to meet our senior leadership team as well as drop in all the classes, meeting our excellent teaching staff and pupils.
We look forward to seeing you.
- St. Michael’s will be holding several open days next academic year from 2pm until 7pm. These will be held on Tuesday 23rd September 2014 and Wednesday 1st October 2014.
- Taster days are a great way for your child to spend the whole day with us to get a real feel for our school. These can be arranged on request and your son/daughter will be able to enjoy a typical day at St Michael’s helping to inform your choice.
